Hi Frank. Just to confirm, animated gifs do work on the site, as you can see on your current profile, but not as avatars. When you select an image as your avatar, a jpeg copy with fixed dimensions is created. We do this so that there is consistency in how the avatar images look in list views.

Thanks for the information, yes in deed, animation gifs do work on the site, I up loaded two from an animation I'm working on. Thanks for the help.

tell me more about your problem. i use a mac with firefox without a problem. are you saying that you are using safari and do not wish to use firefox?
