I had this big idea. Because you just never know. I am always inspired by the famous Einstein quote. "It is impossible to solve a problem with the same mindset that created it." And now for something completely different. Alright here goes. Are you sitting down? Our primary Occupation is to be the best Human Being we can be. “To be the best Human Being is to think of ways to save this planet.” “Every day we wait, will take a thousand days to mitigate.” Let's stop buying, let's start building. Use the best of our technology to gather all plastic in the oceans of the world. Building Islands that become life rafts to the millions of displaced Eco Refugees. People will live and work above and below the surface of the water. They will grow food, make energy and purify water. Use solar and wind technology continuously troll the ocean gathering plastic increasing the size of the life rafts. These will be free countries outside the influence of World Bank, and IMF. Completely self supported by the collection of trash and plastic floating in our oceans. The value of this resource is enormous. We can deconstruct the material or use it whole to create floating islands that become the medium by which other life is encourage to grow and encapsulate the harmful material. Our job is to remove toxics and replace life. Use plastic to attract more plastic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXVw19bP0tw&NR=1 Using Data available from John Todd and New Alchemy. We would design a vessel that will become an island, an ark a life raft for millions. We can use then island to reflect sunlight, create energy, design a future that will grow life and clean the water and our air. Become a home to a new life and a new civilization. Sinking Island communities could continue to thrive and could be used as anchors. They already attracts tons of plastic. But a plastic land mass would be created in each of the affected seas and oceans. A global clean up. As Nader Khalili taught me to Make gold from dirt. Make life from death. We need to consider the story of the Aztec. Who started out as an outsider tribe with no land. They were forced to live in the most undesirable areas near the lake Tenochtitlan, they were forced to eat skunk cabbage and they suffered. But slowly they began to use the reeds by the lake shore to build islands and floating rafts. Some of these islands and rafts still exist. As the floating gardens of Mexico City. They used this as their land base and from there they were able to become the most powerful, well organized civilization of the pre columbian era. We turn plastic into a growing medium. Let nature find a way to deal with it. Some plastic can be decomposed. Some plastic is safer left alone. Rebuild the mountains with plastic. Imagine pyramids of plastic covered with plants. Dismantle the molecules. Make harmless the molecules. Make harmless the madness. To live and travel with out harm. That is the Question. To live and travel with out harm. Is it possible? We need to make a priority of prosperity. We are all the same. Only our cultures divide us. |

Hey that was good stuff. I would really like to collaborate with you about my ideas. I have always wanted to just keep it simple. I do like your style.
Hey did you work on the "Point"? |

Hi Frank. Just to confirm, animated gifs do work on the site, as you can see on your current profile, but not as avatars. When you select an image as your avatar, a jpeg copy with fixed dimensions is created. We do this so that there is consistency in how the avatar images look in list views.
