About
I volunteer for many environmental organizations. My mentor, Leslie Glustrom, has encouraged me to pursue my dreams of being an activist and advocating renewable energy.
I've gone back to school at Naropa in Environmental Leadership I'm finishing up my first year of grad school and it has transformed me. I'm questioning my old ways of thinking and learning to let go of my ego. In less than a month, I will experience my first "plunge" practice by going on a Wilderness Solo. Naropa has opening up my eyes to a whole new realm - meditation, development of community, examining belief systems, and more. It has opened up my soul and in some ways, turned me inside out.

Hi Teresa!
Thanks for connecting to me.
I'm just completing work on a uranium mining webpage, as well as posting an uranium mining alert hoping that folks make requests to the NRC for delays in completing the GEIS.
I'm stuck in SF where there isn't a lot of activism around the issue of nuclear energy, but feel pretty concerned about the issue and how it is being promoted in various other parts of the country and the world. I'm on quite a few email list servers where a lot of older folks are hanging out. But its kind of hard to get them to use stuff like wiserearth.
It doesn't look like Wiserearth is that active. Having only been here a few days, what is your take about the activity level here on Wiserearth?

Hi Teresa!
Thanks for leaving a message on my page. Sorry I didn't get back to you. I was a bit let down about the amount of activity here. I do most of my blogging on a much larger blog called Newsvine, which was extremely active up through the election. Its slowed down a bit, but still quite active.
There is a smaller environmentally conscious community over there, but its pretty small compared to the overall size of the blog.
It helps when there's a robust community.
Blogging has quite a few hats, from just being a reader, to fullblown activist orriented work that can include in your face debates or just posting content for others.
The blog world is pretty big. Wiser Earth appears to be a wonderfully designed community but doesn't have a lot of activity. Don't abandon it altogether as it may eventually get a critical mass and take off, but until then I would suggest exploring some of the more active places like Grist or Treehugger.
