I'm thinking about 2012,

feeling it now, not "then."

The Pachamama, Mama Earth,

is going through

such pain and suffering

as humanity continues to tap her resources beyond her ability to carry us.

But I know

there is no "end of the world."

There is shift.

I've been told that the earth's shift in 2012 will be smooth to handle for those of us who know we are on a white-water rapid-style ride through life, moving fast to get our good works and visions manifested in these times. And also, I am told, the shift of 2012 will be easier for those of us who have learned to know ourselves.

Ahh, life's work, to know ourselves.

Also, we are counseled to be at our own highest possible vibration. . . that is, to let go of fear and jealosy,

and live in gratitude and joy

in the present moment,

rolling with what is, and continuing our good works and good relations.

I am deeply grateful for the knowledge and guidance we have in these times.

Permaculture is providing a healthy framework

for designing a life that dances on this earth

with respect to Her and to our fellow humans and all living things, and demanding that we limit our consumption and share our abundance.

And indigenous wisdom, upon which much of Permaculture's teachings are based, is giving us tools to remember our connection to the earth, to sing back the salmon, to heal our minds and hearts, to heal our relationships and recognize and fulfill our responsibilities.

I've been singing and performing my songs for the mama earth since 1989, and in the last years my connection to her, my devotion, has grown, expanded,

matured, deepened, become as

natural as the weather.

I thank the spirits of the land, our ancestors, daily with sweet humble prayers and songs,

asking for rain when we need it, asking for guidance on my activist path, my peaceful warrior journey.

I move through communities and offer the music to the global movement, this worldwide maturation of humanity,

as we take responsibility for ourselves and our children,

and as we come to engage with the cycles of the earth. 

I offer my songs to the shifting seasons,

recognizing their patterns and emulating them with my breath,my dreams, my celebrations, my psyche, my relations, my rest and my work.
