About

Life is good.  My windy, twisty, road led me to Northern California, where the magic happens.  As the Programs Coordinator at Avalon Springs, my goal is to provide workshops and learning opportunities that will facilitate nurturing and healing our selves,  our families, and on our earth.  These eco-evolutions relate on a fundamental level to growing our own food, building our own houses, and empowering our communitiies.

Workshops at Avalon Springs relate to:
  • Natural Building
  • Permaculture
  • Herbal Healing
  • Earthen Plasters and Finishes
  • Cultural Celebration

Please visit our website at www.avalonsprings.org

Oh--and I'm a professional musician as well!  You can visit my website at www.erincondo.com.

I've started a Wiser-Earth group for Avalon Springs and I'd love for you to join the discussion--So maybe you can't make it to any of our events in person, you can still stay connected.

I love you.

What Do We Plant?

(Henry Abbey)

What do we plant when we plant the tree?
We plant the ship, which will cross the sea.
We plant the mast to carry the sails;
We plant the planks to withstand the gales -
The keel, the keelson, the beam, the knee;
We plant the ship when we plant the tree.

What do we plant when we plant the tree?
We plant the houses for you and me.
We plant the rafters, the shingles, the floors,
We plant the studding, the lath, the doors,
The beams and siding, all parts that be;
We plant the house when we plant the tree.

What do we plant when we plant the tree?
A thousand things that we daily see;
We plant the spire that out-towers the crag,
We plant the staff for our country's flag,
We plant the shade, from the hot sun free;
We plant all these when we plant the tree.

To Erin,

What a refreshing Lovely..   and ending her succinct 'About' content with those warmest of 3 words.

  Just spoke with friend from earlier days at Solfest whose name is Revi and sometimes wonder what path has been taken by Dierdre.  And what path will be taken by the Avalon community?   Wishing Erin the very most choice experiences on her worthy way.   Love in return, Henry
