About
I teach, model and explore living joyfully and regeneratively in relation to myself, community, the earth, and spirit. I contribute to the evolution of a transition culture which values and practices living in ecological harmony with culture and landscape. This includes nature awareness, cultural mentoring, permaculture, ethnobotany, local food systems, indigenous and/or appropriate technology, Peacemaker Principles, and inner work.
My experience ranges from ecology studies, grassroots environmental activism, environmental policy and law research, conservation biology research in New Zealand, whale behavior and marine ecology research in Northeast US, organic farming, landscape surveying and planning, wilderness instruction, workshop leadership and facilitation, community gardening, and permaculture design and implementation. These are some projects, activities and communities in which I am currently involved:
Institute for Natural Learning (affiliation: past Apprentice, previous Program Coordinator, previous Workshop Leadership Facilitator; Wilderness Instructor)
IFNL's mission is to connect individuals to our gifts and purpose in life, our intimate relationship with the land, and our ancient blueprint of cultural mentoring.
-Youth wilderness program
- Adult 8-month workshop series on community building and nature awareness
- Permaculture and Cultural Mentoring design certification course
- Apprenticeship
Deep Wilds(affiliation: Wilderness Instructor)
Week-long Wilderness Rites of Passage for graduating Waldorf school children
Vermont Wilderness School (affiliation: Focus Group member; Wilderness Instructor)
The Art of Mentoring (affiliation: staff)
Week-long, experimental, "felt" experience of living in regenerative culture based on indigenous mentoring principles and nature awareness
Full Circle Girl's Rites of Passage (affiliation: planning group member)
Women's group creating initiatives for Girl's Rites of Passage experiences in Southern VT/Western MA.
Independent consulting, design and implementation of agriculturally productive gardens and landscapes.
On a personal level, I love to make music, dance, sing, cook, garden, forage for edibles and plant medicines, wander around in the woods, read, and connect with extended family.

That this is the eleventh hour.
Now, you must go and tell the people,
That THIS is the hour,
And there are things to be considered.
Where are you living? What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in the right relationship?
Where is your water?
Know your garden ...
It is time to speak your truth.
Create your community,
Be good to each other.
Do not look outside yourself for a leader.
There is a river flowing now very fast,
It is so great and swift.
That there are those who will be afraid,
They will try to hold onto the shore.
They will feel they are being pulled apart,
And will suffer greatly.
Understand that the river knows its' destination,
The elders say we must let go of the shore.
Push off into the middle of the river,
Keep our eyes open and our heads above water.
And I say; see who is in there with you,
Hold fast to them and celebrate!
At this time in history,
We are to take nothing personally.
Least of all, ourselves!
For the moment we do,
Our spiritual growth and journey comes to an end.
The time of the Lone Wolf is over!
Gather yourselves!
Banish the word 'struggle' from Your attitude and vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done,
In a sacred manner and in celebration.
We are all about to go on a journey,
We are the one's we have been waiting for!
