About

As an Earth Mother for Peace, I have dedicated by life to building bridges to Understanding among all people. I am a storyteller in the African American Oral Tradition as well as  a community organizer for Communities in Action for Peace in Pittsburgh, PA.   CAP's mission is to promote healthy communities by reducing violence and its causes in a non-traditional and culturally sensitive manner.  Since 1994 CAP has provided an open forum for groups and agencies to join forces in violence prevention, and through our monthly meetings have brought together people from community and human service organizations, as well as from grassroots communities groups, to discuss and develop innovative and collaborative programs to address violence prevention.  Most recently CAP has changed its focus from violence prevention to peace building, with the goal of creating a culture of peace within the organization and providing programs and trainings for the community in which we serve.
