About

Bio for David Wick

"Innovation and creativity are found wherever he goes", a colleague once said of David Wick. Whether during his work with the European Foundation for Management Development or his tenure at Sun Microsystems, Stanford University, Levi Strauss, independent consulting or leading Silver Light Publications Inc., he is pushing the envelope of knowledge and best practices for the highest good. While at Levi Strauss in the early '80's, David co-created the Organization and Societal Transformation Special Interest Group. At Sun Microsystems, David pioneered organizational learning and knowledge management and leveraged his experience into the groundbreaking Java Migration Team Website within Information Resources. David also received a company wide award, for his first-of-its-kind in the Silicon Valley, Mini-MBA program.

He has extensive international training and consulting experience in both the business and peacebuilding arenas. He has been responsible for corporate and executive development programs in Spain, Hong Kong, France, India, Belgium and Canada. In 1996, David helped design and lead an international conference in Delhi, India related to Human Unity. His week-long program on leadership was a subset of the conference that involved 100,000 people from over 50 countries. In July 2002, he was invited to co-facilitate Listen To The City, a dialogue with 5000 New Yorkers on the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site.

In 1982, he helped launch Pathways To Peace where he was co-vice president and director, and co-founder of its business directed project, Peace Within Organizations. In 1995, he began facilitating the five-year "Inquiry into Peace Building through Business" as part of the international "PeaceBuilding Inquiry for the 21st Century" sponsored by the internationally known Pathways To Peace, the Institute of Noetic Sciences and the Fetzer Institute. He has also co-lead United Nations connected meetings on Peace Building.

David has assisted leading edge initiatives such as the Thought Leader Gatherings ( Silicon Valley, CA), The Presidio Dialogues (San Francisco, CA), and co-created The Rogue Valley Wisdom Councils, "...bringing new life to democracy" in Ashland, Oregon ( www.rvwc.org)*. David is currently president of Silver Light Publications, Inc. and has published the award-winning The Golden Mountain: Beyond The American Dream, a book about claiming one's freedom and peace, as well as other fine books that become literary art that advocates, provokes and inspires positive change in seeking truth and compassion.

* With the initial inspiration, resources and networking of David Wick and Irene Kai, this has evolved into the national Reuniting America initiative. Reuniting America is a network of organizations, associations, and individuals engaged in transpartisan dialogue. It is guided by a national steering committee and board of advisors comprised of leaders from across the political spectrum. ReunitingAmerica’s goal is about reconnecting with the original vision conceived of for this country by our founding fathers.  http://reunitingamerica.org/about_reuniting_america
