About
The Dunwoody Nature Center was founded in 1990, to partner with the DeKalb County Park and Recreation Department, to "preserve and improve Dunwoody Park as a natural classroom for environmental education." It now offers programs for ages 2 to 82, including preschool nature classes, school and scout field trips, and family activities such as the Butterfly Festival; volunteer opportunities in trail maintenance, gardening, event planning,, stream restoration, etc.; and enhancements to the Park. The Nature Center also serves as the town "commons" for Dunwoody, an unincorporated area outside Atlanta.
