After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a degree in business. I had to say goodbye to the world of forest fire fighting and mountain life to explore my interests in business and the global economy. I have spent the past few years running my own business, providing small business consulting, working for an organsition to help launch a major Brand into Canada, and most recently, as an account manager for one of the largest corporations in the world.
Being able to engage at all levels of the business world has helped stimulate my desire for the environment, and the role that organisatons and society will play in preserving it.
I recently graduated with a Masters of Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability (MSLS) from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden. While there, Shawn, molly, and myself teamed up to produce a thesis titled, "Organisational Networks as Catalysts for Strategic Sustainable Development" which related how Networks work today and what may help them become a larger driver towards a more Sustainable Society in the future.
Currently, I am involved in a number of initiatives related to sustainability and hope to collaborate on many more, at the moment these include: consulting and analysis with a team of peers for the non-profit Climate Counts, writing a report on "Water and Business" for Ethical Corporation, contributing to a UN report on the Principles for Responsible Investment, providing knowledge support on sustainability for the environment chair of a Canadian political party, and working to implement Strategic Sustainable Development with the Dublin municipality.
This is only the beginning and I hope to partner with fellow change agents from around the world to enable upstream results while we still have time. Please do get in touch with me.
Finally into the blogging world....
