About
Through the fascinating emerging story, we soon realise this is not a solitary journey, and everyone single one of us plays a part. No matter how small we all leave some kind of legacy, the question is, what will our collective legacy be?
Blazing wisdom is the first major project of Inavizion, a new company set up in Brighton, Sussex in 2008. Blazing wisdom itself has three main aims, to create a cutting edge web archive of interviews with some of the most inspirational people alive today. To make a film about life in the beginning of the twenty first century, to create a documentary series for mainstream TV about the journey. If you are interested and want to get involved see www.blazingwisdom.com
What we'd like to do is visit people along the way, share your story, your journey as its all our story.
Tigers nest.
Tigers nest is a project which aims to provide a series of different resources that can support people to really appreciate life. We live in a culture that is always searching for joy or fulfillment in a transitory world, rushing from one thing to the next to try and find that elusive quality of natural peace, joy and happiness. We rarely give ourselves the opportunity to stop and really appreciate our lives as it’s unfolding in each and every moment, to really be with our life, right now. For this purpose, we hold a series of different events from workshops, walking retreats, to Individual psychotherapy, as well as inviting both contemporary teachers and elders to come and share their unique wisdom. see www.tigersnest.com
Walking Retreats. (Land as Medicine).
In her wonderful book “Wild”, Jay Griffiths tells of how of all around the world, elders are seeing how that we have became dangerous to ourselves, young people are becoming violently out of control, living in a wasteland of the mind. And all these wise elders pointed to one solution: The Land.
Violence comes from being outside nature, not having the clarity of mind that the vastness of the sky provides, losing touch with the grounded quality of the earth, spending time with the wild emotions of the rivers and seas. Nature is both wild and kind, it is the natural world that provides all our resources to survive, yet when we lose touch with that natural rhythm, we find ourselves in a crises, we lose touch with our source. Our current environmental crises is a perfect mirror, reflecting how we have often lost touch with our most primal resource. To spend time with our true home allows a deep healing to take place.
You go back to the land to be yourself, says one of the elders, all human mind is free and wild and we need wild land to remember who we are. To spend time sitting out by a fire under the summer stars, or to sit and see both the sunrise and sunset in one day, these are the most natural aspects of life, but rarely do we give ourselves time to listen, to really see, to remember who we truly are.
The walking retreats provided by Tigers nest allow us to reconnect with that wild soul that is in its essence free and vast. Part of the retreats we spend camping, some in hotels, guest houses and outside. We are encouraged to spend some time walking in silent contemplation and also have the support of silent movement practices, meditation, sky gazing and story telling. By spending time with the five elements, we slowly come back to ourselves and resource deeply recharging our lives with awareness and passionate action as we realise we are an intrinsic part of the whole and our life is a gift to share with others.
The retreats run from two/three days in Sussex, to five/seven days in Snowdonia. For more details, see dates on the back of this programme and check the website. Places are limited, so its best to book early to secure a place. The retreats are a great way to stay fit both physically and mentally.
