About
As President/CEO of Noble Resources Group, I am a sustainable resource market development consultant, based in Southern California. I am also a consulting (i.e. paid) Executive Director of the Association of Compost Producers (ACP) (www.healthysoil.org) and have over 20 years of environmental market research, publishing and strategic market consulting experience. My clients are public water and sanitation agencies and private resource recycling technology and service companies. I am focused on expanding public and private sector investment in water, recycled water, recycled organics and renewable bioenergy at the local, state, national and international policy and investment levels. I do this this via strategic market development and logistical channel development for both public and private clients through collaborative forums, like ACP, in these key resource arenas.
Some of my past experience includes: co-founder, and VP/Director of Research, of Resource Trends, Inc. (2001-2005; www.resourcetrends.com) and Environmental Business International, Inc. (EBI; 1988-2000; www.ebiusa.com), publishers of the industry defining Environmental Business Journal (EBJ), for which I was the founding financial editor from 1988 to 1991, and remain a contributing editor on its Editorial Advisory Board for water, wastewater and organics issues, to the present time. With Resource Trends, I was research director on a WERF Funded Research Study published by the WateReuse Association (www.watereuse.org) titled, “Best Practices for Developing Indirect Potable Reuse Projects.” As Executive Director of ACP I lead a restructuring of that association to include both public agencies along with private composting companies to become a major force in expanding compost markets in California. With EBI, I developed and was lead author and research director on many of EBI’s in-depth market reports, including the WaterViewÔ report series, as well as other international market analyses and industry trend reports from 1992 to 2001. Over the years, I have facilitated strategic planning sessions, developed business plans, and lead multi-year market-research projects for over 100 emerging companies to Fortune 500 clients, including Hewlett Packard, Monsanto and Corning.
As part of my consulting work, I have directed comprehensive environmental and water industry studies for Federal and International agencies, including US DOC, US EPA, US TDA, EU/OECD, and UNTAD, and has presented at numerous conferences on environmental, business investment, market expansion and water-related issues, including AWWA, WEFTEC, WQA, WWEMA, and the WateReuse Association. I have B.A. degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego and M.S. degrees in Molecular Biology and Education from theUniversity of Oregon. I have been on the advisory boards of key industry publications (Environmental Business Journal, Water & Engineering Management and Water Quality Products), and a Board member of a number of growth companies in this industry. I have co-managed and personally invested in three family businesses with his wife of 33 years, most recently La Jolla FiberArts (www.lajollafiberarts.com) in La Jolla, CA.
