About
I am involved in the permaculture movement as a solution for how we can live as a society, a framework for making a real difference to all our lives, and help create systems for our survival at the same time. I am also very interested in how we tend to collectively wait for others to identify our problems, solve problems for us, feed us information, to give things to us, rather than the other way around.
I love this platform as it puts the onus right back on the individual to be responsible and get connected and do something to share. It also provides a virtual community space where we can connect and share, when distances are too hard to travel in person. Sharing knowledge is almost as important as sharing a surplus crop.
I like that we can all share equally, and it is not up to a moderator to decide what you can share and when. Again it enables the individual to be responsible.

To explore how WiserEarth can assist you in your work - read this article 10 Ways to Get More Out of WiserEarth
Check this site out. It is the logical next step for intergrating and connecting all the resources we are interested in.

These are some countries I have visited although looking at it now the carbon footprint for these movements has been very signficant and it will take some time to redress this. No future travel
planned, except in e-space.

28 August 2009 (and dear Celeste, thanks for letting me post my letter here).
I have always wanted and believed in the possibility of peace. Over the past few weeks, as I begun collecting data of peace initiatives between Palestine and Israel, I was very moved to see the radical extent of heart and mindset shift towards peace through non violent conflict resolution acts in the region. The thought struck me - here is a direct proof that the reality of humanity is far greater than the reality of the situation; that peace, here, is not only possible but inevitable... and, that if this is so here, it must be true everywhere.
There is now less than a month to the International Day of Peace, 21 September 2009. If you hold peace dear in hope, I would like to invite
you to sign your name on the Peace Day Wall (below the image), and if you wish, please pledge your intent for the day in support.

Are talking about in WE or here in FB? Sorry for confusion just want to be sure. Can you help out with raising WE profile in FB? One way of getting more active members is to spread the word and get more active users to join WE. Simply ask all your friends if they will consider becomng a fan of the WE page! So that's the FB stuff, now for WE stuff. Generally within WE I have found directly sending a messsage to other users in the group or direct from me to them as a useful way to get something started. There are some very active WE users and if you can make contact with them and get something started, that is often a useful thing. Starting a discussion is another way to go. Check out WEversity there are some really intense conversations happening at this time in this group. I have found that a lot of people dont understand the communication and networking power/potential of WE yet. If you are younger you might get it easier, but I think a lot of users who are only just getting conversant with emails and websites dont really understand yet how to engage with the space. So in terms of some of the active groups I spend my time in, I really encourage people to use the Chatterbox function, and to load new resources onto the site when ever they can. It takes a while for peole to get the hang of it, to realise that all of us are responsible for the content and the action and whatever happens in WE, equally. It is really about sharing, in the area of sustainability, peace and justice and conservation, and translating that into the internet rather than face to face - which is really difficult anyway when I am in Oz and you are in the UK! |

Hi Celeste!
thanks! quanda was a hoot- got to kick the goal to change Queensland law, and put issue on national agenda. Not bad for a 10 second grab :)...but seriously, a lot of people worked in the team to get the ball near the goal post :) - just got lucky on the day :)
It was interesting to see shaddow aterney general - trying to defend corruption - whereas I stuck to my old caramella "Natural justice". "Natural justice" is such a powerful tool! Wasn't quite aware how powerful it is- untill I got to use it in a simple question !
Your turn next week ? you should go- it a great experience! |

Hi Celeste! Thank you so much for helping with "Home". You can be sure I'll tell you the news as they happen. You've no idea about how inspired I'm about connecting with people from all around the world for making an idea happen. That's a whole new experience for me. Kind regards, Willian Rosa. |

Hi Celeste, I am a practicing homeopath +10yrs, having completed back then a 2yr course with David Little. If you'd like to be involved in discussion of homeopathy online, check out http://homeopathyworldcommunity.com
someone mentioned depleted uranium (an oxymoron..) which may well turn out to be a hellaciously genocidal weapon.. it more toxic when exposed to 100 degree plus temperatures during storage. regards, david hartley |

Changing the name is a good idea to keep in line with the other Sydney groups but someone will need to change all the other titles on Wiserearth and the acronym to PBM all over.
I am wondering how to do this on the website. We also have that silly email address.
