It is with great sadness that we report the death of Steve Habib Rose. A number of us met this evening and thought that this group would be a fitting tribute. About
I'm a Dutch guy working in an international development organization and I'm currently involved in electoral reform and anti-corruption programmes.
During the past few years I've become increasingly interested in approaching development issues from a perspective that emphasizes the importance of accountability and transparency.
Although I do not have an academic background in the natural sciences, I have come to believe that so-called "sustainable development" can only take place if we succeed in addressing the triple challenges of water scarcity, peak oil and global warming.
I think that the promotion of transparency and accountability are indispensable elements of any efforts to address the "natural resources vs economic growth predicament".
This network seems like a great tool to get into contact with people and become more active in the issues I care for.
