My name is Candace Bonfield. I am a Communication Masters Candidate at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. I have an undergraduate degree in Communication and a Certificate in Sustainable Community Development. My research focus is on Communication for social change with a specific focus on climate change and food security. I am interested in the connection between human cultures and sustainability and how to infuse an ethic of sustainability in North American dominant culture. I am hoping to put together a guide book as my masters project for the use of non-profits and organizers on how best to leverage communication approaches, mediums and tools to create social change and encourage individual and institutional behavioral change. I would be very grateful to anyone who had helpful information or tips for me in creating this guidebook. Currently, I am working on several projects at Simon Fraser University as the Sustainability Coordinator.
