Every place is a school
Every individual is a teacher Every thing is a lesson Every moment is an opportunity Ceaseless wonder and humility Turns each breath into Eternity. Hi There :)
Please call me Bowo.
I'm a starting-out writer living in the suburbs of Jakarta, Indonesia, and a beginner in the greater movement of making our civilization one worthy of sustaining.
I have a passion for learning. Learning to connect the dots, to find missing pieces, to reassemble the pieces into a comprehensible whole, to make sense of the whole picture with the best of ideals our world could have, and to paint a better whole when things end up just not good enough.
At the beginning of 2007, I (finally) started blogging to archive, organize and share those learnings @ "Nooventures -- Mind Ventures in the Quest for a Life-Sustaining Civilization Design". I consider this quest as my mental Everest and it is encouraging to learn that WiserEarth is full of seasoned climbers of this very mountain I am trying to picture clearly and conquer. I hope to learn from you all and give a little something in return for this collective endeavour.
Other than that, I enjoy smooth music, horizon-broadening readings, inspiring movies, fast-moving sports (basketball, soccer, table tennis, badminton), and friendly conversations with good and long laughs in them. We Are
A friend from China gave me this paper crane as he returns to his homeland after a one-month AIESEC student exchange program here in Jakarta. It reads: "All over the world be wiser" and "Bowo fly."
The day after, another friend re-introduced me to Jason Mraz's Live High. Perfect!
Maybe my next dream will be about migration flight in a flock of like-wings? Looks like one great adventure! [End of 2007] A little while ago, I finished reading the Deathly Hallows, the final installment of a series I consider to be an excellent symbolic representation of the human condition and predicament--right there in the same league with Matrix the trilogy. In many ways, it also symbolize the things that folks in WiserEarth are doing all over the world.
The difference with our reality is the fact that either we don't have any Harry Potter or Neo, or ours is one no longer in need of such personas. I believe, like many others, it is because "we... are the ones we have been waiting for", and it will take each and every one of us to think clearly, to make conscious choices, and and to take actions -- however small -- that will help make the world a better place for all.
"What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad....You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes." (Morpheus, The Matrix)
"Dark and difficult times lie ahead. Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy." (Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire)
Nice to meet you. I hope to know you better, to learn from you and to co-create with you our future here together on earth.

My wife Lee and I are thrilled to begin connecting with folks around the planet who are working for the healing of all hearts, for acts of justice and mercy, for the health of our planet. We have created a narrative feature film, FINAL GIFTS, out of our own commitment for the perfection of unconditional love everywhere, and are planning for the production of our second feature film, based on a 1969 Off-Broadway play I wrote with Lee's inspiring brother, McCrea Imbrie, who fought for human rights with all his heart.

Hi Zack,
WiserEarth hosts information on organizations doing all sort of good things. Some of which are those that prevent usable stuff from ending up in landfill. Click here for a list of such organizations in Canada.
However, the actual information about the stuff being given away or exchanged is not available here. Try googling for "freecycling" or "freecycling canada", there should be some hits that might be relevant to your needs.

@Deen: Good to hear from you. I'll message you soon about my further thoughts.
@Thierry: Thanks for dropping by. I see you've created a group around the "social tripartition" idea of yours. Will have to look deeper into it. Wish I'm fluent in the French language!
@Manuela: Ciao! :-)
@Kiky: Halo halo :-) ... glad that some of what I wrote above inspires people... not very often that happens :-)
Also glad to know that you are becoming more and more aware and wants to do something about the mess we are in. Always could use an extra pair of helping hands I suppose :-)
And amin to your prayers! :-) |

Halo Mas Bowo. Wahhh saya bangga sekali waktu membaca semua pesan2 mas Bowo. I'm so inspired!. I will look deeper into this website as soon as possible. I would like to learn more and more about what's happening in our earth and in our society and hopefully I can change into a better responsible individual.
Aku asli Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan dan sekarang berdomisili di Vancouver, Canada. I'm getting sick of watching how bad this world and our society are turning into.

Hi Guys? This is my second day of using this facility. It is very good
First let me introduce myself and the Historical background on the premise that ''Nothing is impossible''
I am aprofessional Accountant by Qualification(CPA-K) with Diploma in Human Resources Management. Currently I am persuing Bachelor of Commerce(Finance Option) at the University of Nairobi Kenya.
I am from a very humble background and grew up in a polygamous family of five women with absolute poverty from our house.Brought up with an illitrate mother, my first motivator in life was when I went to Nairobi city with my step brother on barefooted. I shame and laughter that well come me to the city reconstructed my thinking that I was only belonging to the bush and not the city.
With a meagre income my mother managed to pay our school fees through primary and local secondary schools. I managed to score a minimum grade required for entry in any university in Kenya. However, due to lack of school fees, I decided to joing tertiary college(Kenya College of Accountacy) where due to outstanding performace I was paid for part fees upto CPA(K). A few months later I got a job with a local National Non Governmental organization working on HIV Aids & poverty alleviation intervention along lake victoria region. Out of the salaries obtained from the job I build my mother a house and paid for my siblings school fees and two years later through the internet job search I got job with Hospitality Systems Consultants Ltd, a firm providing IT solution to Hotel Industry in Africa. The job was betterly paying in Nairobi but the working conditions were unbearable. I quited the job after one year since it could not provide chance for my further career advancement. Today I am thanking God that have given me the opportunity to service in a capacity as Financial Management Consultant & Senior Auditor with Zedesen Africa Ltd and Delyde Associates Ltd respectively. I am now able to pay my University of Nairobi fees and bills to by ailing mother suffering from HIV Aids.Although my mother is stills sick she has been able to see the fruit of her determination even through she never went to school.
It is from this background that I am really interested in the Wisereath to explores on ways and means of improving the society which we leave in i.e to be free of diseases, poverty, war, selfishness among other ills. I am also requesting editors and news reporters in this site to cover and make the world very much informed about these vulnereable communities.
Hoping to get more comment from the Wisereath Team |

[25.03.10] Dreams... a favorite of mine is low-altitude cruising-mode flight. Crane-like perhaps...

Hey Marco,
You're most welcome. Let me think about it... always wanted to participate but not quite sure I can commit 8 hours per week in the near future... will let you know soon.
Thanks!
