Greetings to all,
I am new to this site & to social networking online & happy to find a place whose purpose seems to be to bring people looking to take part in the work needed to get our act together as the communities that make up the planet .
I would describe myself as a practicing environmentalist & practice the 4 R's - Respect, Reduce, Reuse Recycle with an interest to get my town, 07002, USA, on board in becoming a sustainable community.
Bayonne, NJ (Map of Bayonne, NJ, USA) Bayonne is a small 5.63 sq. mile pennisusal in the shadow of New York City from the west & Newark Liberty Airport on the east; it is in a hub of civilization with great opportunities to present a positive example of change.
I've recently become re-energized to get back to activating & advocating for positive change. Long, long aga In 1990, Waste Management subsidiary Wheelerbrator & the local governments were planning to build the worlds largest sludge incinerator here in little Bayonne. It short it was an education in human short sightedness of long term impacts of how we do what we do that has lead the planet to global warming but I do not soley lay blame on corporations & governments however, they do bear the greater responsibility to help direct human behaviour in positive ways as we do for ourselves & our families.
To that end I am looking for conversation, friends to share & find suggested resources to get help to kick start my efforts to build a sustainable community.
Let's talk!
Peace
Bruce from Bayonne
