About

Hi I'm Lindsay Hassett and I dress up as Betty Biodiesel. Launching the Betty Biodiesel Organization and the Biofuels4schools campaign is a big passion of mine. Below I have included some information about how Betty BIodiesel and Biofuels4schools are helping kids learn about renewable energy and breathe cleaner air.

The Biofuels4schools campaign Is dedicated to:
  • Improving air quality inside school buses through the use of renewable fuels such as biodiesel.
  • Coordinates the support of Renderers, Biodiesel producers, Petroleum Distributors, School bus fleets, School districts and our youth to ensure a successful transition to Biodiesel.
  • Provides playshops for K-12 students on the benefits of Biodiesel in school buses.
  • In the Bay Area, the campaign has teamed up with Blue Sky Biofuels, who processes biodiesel from waste grease for use in school buses.

Ecosupershero Betty Biodiesel has been performing for youth in schools and as Master of Ceremonies at numerous Northern California festivals and events such as Harmony Festival, Solfest, Earthdance and many others since 2002. Dressed as a sunflower, Betty taps into the earth we all share and relays urgent messages calling for change. Her super-powers include seeing ecological and human systems as overlapping, stopping ancestral baggage in its tracks and spreading seeds of change that multiply to billions. Her powers become magnified when she shares them with others.

Hi Lindsay, I encourage you to reach out to other's on WE who have mentioned biodiesel in their profile, if you haven't already: http://wiserearth.org/user/search/q/biodiesel

From your group page, go to "Admin Tools" and "Invite members" to invite friends or people already on WiserEarth to your Biodiesel in school buses group!

Lindsay, it was so great to meet you at Bioneers! I loved checking out your bus, and would love to see you in action someday with the kids.
