My parents moved from Taiwan to South America looking for a better life. They came from very poor families but were able to change their lives. They have two daughters: one is the executive director of FSC-Brazil, a leading environmental NGO (though this is not me   ;-D), and the other is venturing as an social entrepreneur, hopefully, a successful one. 

me in a nutshell: Created a fair-trade retail business (www.bazaarbrazil.net) that was featured on San Francisco Chronicle, ABC TV network, Palo Alto Daily News, Wave Magazine and most recently chosen as 2007 best of Bay Area by the San Francisco magazine (yeah!!!). I have a BA in business administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and a Masters of Liberal Arts (East Asian Studies) from the University of Pennsylvania. I worked for four years in Brazil advising multinational companies, helped an entrepreneur create a new business in Shanghai (China), worked in marketing in Mainz (Germany), and coordinated several international events. My competitive advantages come from my ability to understand multicultural environments and the languages I speak: Portuguese, Mandarin, English, Spanish and German (ok- I confess – I haven’t spoken German since I studied and worked there in 1998 – so please, do not test my German skills). My latest accomplishment is becoming part of the WiserEarth team, volunteering for Portuguese related research.

• snowboard and then have cheese and chocolate fondue

• go to the Ferry Building and have 2 dozens of oysters and a good beer at ½ price
• the view from my apartment
• play wii or watch movie with my highschool friends in Brazil
• enjoy breakfast  or a nice sunset with Pedro
• know my parents and sister are happy

In my to do list

• next trips hopefully: diving in Honduras, Katmandu to Lhasa, Croatia, Yunnan, Guilin.
• cycle instead of driving to NCI (I did survive after my first 3 hours round-trip South of Market- Sausalito)
