About

Trained as a lawyer and investment banker, Mark spent eleven years as a fixed income securities trader and then sales, covering some of the largest portfolio managers in the country including Morgan Bank, Putnam, Western Asset Management and BGI (Bill Gates Investments). He left Sanwa Bank in New York as the youngest Executive Vice President ever and moved to San Francisco in 1994 - the year the Web was born.

There he launched beaming, llc. (1995), a new media venture consulting firm in San Francisco, advising a diverse range of organizations including large technology and telecommunication companies like NTT in Japan on the acquisition of media properties. He also produced a critically acclaimed lecture and performance series called New Minds that focused on the impact of technology on society and culture and founded an art, science and technology network called Creative Disturbance.

Seeking to leverage his skills for social and environmental causes, he co-founded Collective Intelligence in 2001 and xigi.net in 2005 to help catalyze the emerging capital market for good. Collective Intelligence is a group of entrepreneurs dedicated to improving the efficiency of social enterprises. xigi.net is a financial network that seeks to accelerate the flow of capital to green investments. Mark is also a senior consultant to Good Capital a new private equity fund for the social capital market. Straddling both the business and art worlds, Mark also founded artbeam.net in 2003, a collective of leading international artists.

Mark's Wall Street, technology, media, art and entertainment world experiences enables him to work as a producer with incredibly diverse and talented individuals and organizations, whether it is the execution of large financial transactions, brokering technology deals, launching companies, producing events & exhibitions, mapping and developing strategy, international development projects or the production of art.

Mark lives and works from Oaxaca Mexico traveling frequently throughout the Americas.
