About

San Francisco Native. Raised with a juxtoposition between city life and the outdoors which carried into my adult life and careers. At an early age after many years of summer camp near Yosemite, I knew I would take the path less traveled compared to my family and peers in san Francisco. My passion for nature, profound real experiences and doing something with redeeming value led me into my first career as the Founder of an adventure travel company, Southern Yosemite Mountain Guides in California's Sierra Mountain Range. www.symg.com is the state's leading outdoor company and in my initial seven years building the company I continued my diverse life by spending half the year doing business development in the city and the other half guiding long wilderness trips deep in the Sierra. I loved it!

Next came the ' I need a new challenge/be a bit more settled' phase of my life. I ended up being a Co-Executive Director of the private CAW Family Foundation in san Francisco. great work but I was more of a non-profit guy then a foundation guy so I yearned for more. During the internet years, I was the founder my own consulting company, Trail Junction working with clients like National Geographic, The North face, TopoZone, Get Outdoors and GORP. My business and outdoor skills combined nicely at this time.

In 2001, all my passions came together as myself and two others started a Social Venture called  First Light Destinations, that developed outdoor oriented Resorts while employing low-income young adults from the San Francisco Bay Area. Our first property is the historic Evergreen Lodge on the western border of Yosemite. The hotel has been very successful and our youth serving  program has produced tremendous results and received notoriety from the NY Times, MSNBC and Fortune.

I like to act on my ideas and dreams and I have few regrets in life.

I am married to my southern sweetie and we have a baby girl on the way.

I am now ready for new endeavors and ways to serve society and the earth. I am here to meet new folks, be inspired by new ideas and collaborate. Thanks for contributing.
