About

I am looking for a job in Oaxaca, Mexico-- please message me if you have any suggestions/advice!

I am a recent B.A. graduate who majored in Politics, Law, and Society and Cross-Cultural relations. I wrote my undergraduate thesis on the movement for a people's government in Oaxaca, Mexico, inspired by some time I spent in Mexico while on the International Honors Program: Rethinking Globalization my junior year of college. I lived with host families and learned about politics, economics, environmental policy, and anthropology from local guest lecturers and field visits in England, Tanzania, India, New Zealand and Mexico. The program impressed upon me the importance of transnational solidarity, and I've been trying to foster Mexico-U.S. solidarity in my home communities by doing teach-ins and writing articles to raise awareness about how the movement for a people's government in Oaxaca emerged in part from U.S.-backed economic policies, like the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Now I'm looking to put all my energies into working a job that allows me to put my knowledge into practice in continuing to create transnational solidarity. I am interested in pursuing a career in immigration law, international humans rights law, or journalism and would appreciate any tips or thoughts you can offer!

"Learn to see everything in its true perspective. Often you are too close to a situation to see it clearly, or you are inclined to take it for granted. Take nothing for granted. Stand back every now and again so you can see things clearly & never fail to give thanks for what you behold."
