About
I believe environmental and social change begins with education, awareness and community building, so I am thrilled to be a member of Wiser Earth!
Openess, tolerance, patience, determination and diplomacy are seed concepts for me.
I find that I learn best intergenerationally and am honored to work with and in support of vibrant young people who offer fresh perspectives, new knowledge and keep me on my toes. We are all students and teachers.
I work for the Headlands Institute, an environmental education foundation specializing in k-12 experiential field science education. My work involves supporting emerging youth leaders through sustainability education. Headlands youth leadership programs include Teen Environmental Action Mentorship, a year round leadership program for high school youth. TEAM members receive an introduction to environmental literacy through a twelve day intensive summer training. Members meet bimonthy during the year to delve deeper into environmental and social justice issues, partner with other youth leaders and environmental organizations and to plan the Bay Area Environmental Youth Quest. Youth Quest brings together over 200 young people representing over 30 organizations and high schools for a two day environmental leadership summit.
I am very interested in Green Schools, non-profit and public school partnerships and Sustainability Education. I would like to travel to countries such as New Zealand and Switzerland to learn more about innovations in this emergence of whole school sustainability education.
I am also an audio artist, musician, vocalist and and freestyle emcee. I enjoy utilizing my creative talents to inspire awareness and change!

I'm very inspired by the great focus on youth environmental education in SF. Thanks for doing all you do. I hope that people cities across the country can become as active in this area as you for the good of all.
