About

About Me:

I am a volunteer and teacher with the Art of Living Foundation, teaching yoga, meditation, yogic breathing and practical wisdom for getting the most out of life. I'm also a web designer and spiritual rapper (you can check out some of my music at www.myspace.com/solomonrising)

The Art of Living has given me so much hope for the world, confidence that I can make a difference, inspiration to do so, and amazing tools to stay stress-free, happy and effective.  For me, the Art of Living is so inspiring because it creates a Peace Movement the only way one can truly be successful - one that comes from the inside-out.   It is kind of the pay it forward effect - if we are stressed out, then we spread stress, misery and selfishness whereever we go.  However, if we as individuals learn tools to relieve our own stress, and maintain our natural state of peace and joy, than we spread peace and joy everywhere we go!

I teach regular workshops around Boulder, including free yoga/meditaiton/breathing intro classes most every Tuesday at  CU (call first to confirm) - check my events page for upcoming workshops and events.  You can also learn more at and see our local info at www.us.artofliving.org/co

Let's Partner!

I am very interested in partnering with other organizations in Boulder and around the world to create a peaceful, joyous and sustainable future.

The Art of Living specializes in what I like to call stress-reduction / joy-enhancement.  For all the amazing volunteer groups out there, we all know how burn-out can be one of the major challenges to reaching your goals.  That is why another name I like to call our Art of Living Course is VBOPP - the Volunteer Burn Out Prevention Program.  Contact me if you're interested in a free introductory workshop for your staff.  You can be anywhere in the world - we have volunteers in over 140 countries!

Also, as one of the world's largest, volunteer-based non-profits, we are always looking for valuable service projects that our members can support and participate in.  We'd love to hear what you're up to!

About The International Art of Living Foundation:

"We are committed to making life a celebration on this planet."

- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

The Art of Living Foundation offers programs to uncover the strength, peace, and joy that lie at the core of every human being. By nurturing the spirit and compassion of every individual, the Foundation seeks to help build a global society that is free of stress, violence, and misery - and full of service, wisdom, and celebration.

The Foundation engages in a wide array of educational and humanitarian programs that uplift individuals, make a difference in local communities, and foster global change. Often working in association with its sister organization, the International Association for Human Values, Foundation volunteers have brought both physical and trauma relief to several regions of conflict and natural disaster around the world, and, in one region, contributed to the cessation of decades-long violence.

The Foundation also offers programs for youth and teens, business, law and government, prison inmates and staff, trauma survivors, people with depression, and programs for people living with cancer, HIV, and other life-threatening diseases.

Daniel,

I found your page from another I was just on (I'm new to wiserearth, so it's a bit overwhelming at the moment), but I am just amazingly excited and moved by Art of Living. I checked out the foundation's website a bit, and I'd definitely love to become involved. I am currently in graduate school studying environmental studies and science teaching at Antioch University New England, and I'd love to learn more about Art of Living and especially the Youth Empowerment programs. I'd also love to learn more for my own personal fulfillment. Unfortunately the 2009 schedule doesn't have any classes near me (I live in NH) that I can attend. Any suggestions on a next step? Wait til 2010? It sounds like you are quite involved with this foundation.

Peace,

Emily

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER

"If I had my life to live over again, I'd try to make more mistakes next time. I would relax. I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip. I know of a very few things I would take seriously. I would take more trips. I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers and watch more sunsets. I would do more walking and looking. I would eat more ice cream and fewer beans. I would have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones. You see, I am one of those people who lives prophylactically* and sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day. Oh, I've had my moments; and if I had it to do over again, I'd have more of them. In fact, I'd try to have nothing else. Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead each day. I have been one of those people who never go anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a gargle, a raincoat, aspirin and a parachute. If I had it to do over again, I would go places, do things and travel lighter than I have. If I had my life to live over, I would ride on more merry-go-rounds --- pick more daisies."
