About

Anastasia Ordonez joined the David and Lucile Packard Foundation in 2008 and is the senior communications manager. Anastasia manages the day-to-day operations of the Foundation's communications department, and helps Foundation leaders to build and refine an organizational communications strategy. She works with management and program staff to develop a clear understanding of grantmaking strategies and program activities, and provides counsel to build the communications capacity of Foundation grantees. She also oversees the implementation of Web technologies for increased effectiveness and maximum outreach.

 

Before joining the Foundation, Anastasia honed her communications skills in the labor movement, working both nationally and internationally. She was the director of communications and media relations for the California Labor Federation (AFL-CIO), and served as director of communications for UNITE HERE. She also served as the co-executive director of the Sidney Hillman Foundation from 2004 to 2006.

 

Anastasia holds a degree in English literature from Rutgers University and a master's degree in women's studies from Rutgers University.
