About

Born and raised in Tokyo, I have since lived in Seattle, Vancouver BC, Amsterdam, Panama, San Francisco, and Brooklyn where I am currently based. I hold a BFA in Interior Architecture and a MSc. in Environment and Resource Management. I have worked with a number of design studios, urban sustainability organizations as well as community arts organizations.

I am dedicated to realizing ideas of urban ecology, where patterns and products of human habitation, its architecture and infrastructure, have a symbiotic relationship with the natural system. In order to advance sustainable development around the world, I believe the gaps of inequity between the North and the South must be bridged, through dissemination of knowledge, technology, and available resources, to enable each and every community to achieve self-determination and self-sufficiency, to balance the benefits of global links concurrent with the diversity of local approaches.
