About

Jambo!  My name is Usiku (oo-SEE-koo) .

I am inspired by the connection between spirituality and the natural world. I also love to connect the disconnected in an effort to restore the wholeness and continuity to our existence.   I hope to contribute to our universal need with one article, one poem and one short story at a time as well as through the exchange of ideas.

Learning & Knowing: The Difference

 Idea Exchange

I believe everything hinges on our mindset and our thinking.  I beleive art can help soften the effect of "Do this and Do that."  I seek to encourage shifts in thinking using art, history, culture, current events and challenging conventional ways of thinking.

I want to exchange ideas, comments and feedback on this site and hopefully that will lead to exchanges outside this site.  I also want to learn what's going on in this big wide world and perhaps find at least one more thing to direct some of my focus.

I want to use writing, creativity and ideas to affect the person and the planet in their physical and spiritual realms.

Some Dreams Seem So Real...

I once dreamt the Earth could talk,
And it delivered a desperate speech,
About its own right to life,
People didn’t think twice,
I was the last person it was able to reach…
Then its outline appeared in chalk.

...You Won't Ask To Be Pinched.

I love Learning & Knowledge: The Difference! Especially this line:

Knowledge informs. Learning transforms.

Many know a lot though their education but don't learn enough of the things that matters (though I don't pretend to have learned enough).
