About
I graduated with an MBA from SFSU in 2003. While in college, I helped a number of local companies focus their attention on what strategies would work for them given their core competence and the constraints - internal and external.
In the course of crafting that strategy, I learn a great deal about what goes on in a company. Basically, the resistance to change is higher when a company is performing relatively well, than when it is not. When a company is performing well, it is easy to defer key issues...until they become a problem.
My advice to most of the companies is that it is imperative to measure performance as you cannot manage what you cannot measure.
