About
I have experienced several principal stages In my life progression: community activist and architectural designer, lawyer and political scientist, and now, trying to synthesize my skills, social entrepreneur. Since 1993 I have managed a technology NGO called Terra Segura International, am co-managing a team developing a robot for use against roadside bombs, am a principal in organizing the Brazil-USA Green Technology Trade Association,
and am dedicated to empowering communities to prepare for major disasters such as avian
pandemic flu.
I am divorced and the father of Victoria, eight (shown much younger in the photo),
with whom I have a very close relationship, and who wants to grow up to be a teacher,
veterinarian, scientist, and artist.
My avocations include hiking and camping, sailing, whittling naturalistic forms in manzanita, building a plug-in hybrid car, playing with my daughter, and making progress on harmonizing my life with what's needed for creating a sustainable future.
