About

Project Patagonia is an all-volunteer, service-oriented effort to improve the quality of education and access to information technology in rural Argentina.  Project Patagonia was created by four Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholars, Kimberly Berls, Emily Pierce, Christopher Tepper, and Tanner Wells, in 2006 as a means for giving back to their host country, Argentina.  Not only were all the scholars passionate about fostering education, but education is, indeed, intrinsically linked to other keystone issues related to world peace, including poverty, access to information, and cultural understanding.

Project Patagonia assists communities and local school administrators in maintaining productive school environments and sustaining the incentive system for students to attend daily classes.  Project Patagonia promotes technological literacy and intellectual curiosity, as well as ensures these rural students and their communities are not left out of Argentina’s economic growth.
