About
I have been working on environmental issues for more than 20
years. I spent the first part of the 1990s working to protect the
Old Growth Forests of the Pacific Northwest. I published the
quarterly enivornmental newspaper Affinity from 1989-1999 and
distriubted 25,000 per issue throughout Ohio. I am currently the
executive director of EarthWatch Ohio. The mission of our
organization is to educate citizens about environmental issues and
encourage them to take an active role in protecting the environment and
creating sustainability.
EarthWatch Ohio is a vehicle for nonprofit environmental organizations, governmental agencies, sustainable businesses and concerned citizens to voice their concerns and communicate their ideas to a broader audience. We provide our service by publishing a bimonthly newspaper that is distributed for free at more than 2,000 locations throughout 12 counties of Northeast Ohio. We print 50,000 copies per issue. EarthWatch Ohio is distributed at public libraries, café’s, restaurants, community centers, laundromats, movie theatres, colleges and universities, community events, fitness studios, public transportation stops, nature centers, health food stores, etc.
EarthWatch Ohio offers solutions toward a healthier Ohio by providing the tools and resources necessary to integrate sustainability in our everyday lives and creates a dialogue among community members working to better our society. EarthWatch Ohio illustrates sustainable practices that have a positive impact on our region.
