About
Sandra's BioSandra Sault Poulson is a seasoned organizational consultant, change agent and dedicated mom to Miranda. Sandra has her own practice, RealTrust Consulting, which focuses on sustainable relationships for a sustainable future. Sandra's practice develops leadership skills, awareness and collective capacity to achieve sustainability by orchestrating collaboration across sectors and issues to achieve systemic, whole systems change.
Sandra is founding Sustainable Cascadia with colleague, David Johnston. Sustainable Cascadia is a west coast bioregional initiative to achieve sustainability in one generation. It's a 6 year effort at large scale cooperation that accelerates progress and shows success is possible. The initiative builds participation through a series of World's Fairs on sustainability and collaborative technology/infrastructure to augment work between events.
Sandra is a board member of the Whidbey Institute, which holds a mission of Earth, Spirit and the Human Future. Sandra collaborated on the development of a new program series, "Spirit and Practice of a Bioregion." The first 3 day event was offered September 2006 on the topic of "Climate Change, Water and the Choices Ahead" featuring Bill Ruckelshaus as guest speaker, former head of EPA. The program team is also developing a bioregional fellows program to bring expertise to the discourse of how a bioregion, which is a naturally bounded whole system, can best inform an approach to addressing issues of sustainability.
Sandra served the host team for Imagine Cascadia, an experiment in imagining a desired future with the people of the Cascadia Bioregion, sponsored by Seattle Biotech Legacy Foundation. Sandra collaborated on the design and facilitation of events hosting over 125 people in conversations of discovery. The event proceedings are informing the development of a network of cooperation for imagining a 100 year vision and to orchestrate massive collaboration across the bioregion on a shared path forward.
Sandra consults in the development of cross-sector learning communities, and partnered with the Interra Project to design a learning community for the Stanford University course "Toward a Literacy of Cooperation." This course examined the role of technology as a new medium of communication in the evolution of cooperation and posed new possibilities for concerted action. The cooperation studies group continues to meet, explore, learn and collaborate after 18 months of steady participation.
Sandra's practice also provides design and facilitation of collaborative processes, cross-sector learning communities, and group events/retreats to realize whole systems change within organizations. Sandra has over 17 years experience in leadership development, training, facilitation, and organization development.
