Southern Arizona Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life (SAZ COEJL)

I am a "professional volunteer" - active in the Jewish community, my synagogue, and the interfaith community. Right now I am actually looking for some kind of paid employment. Maybe substitute teaching in the fall. What I'd REALLY like to do is online research or copy editing, as I have a lot of experience with both.

I share my home with 9 cats (1 mostly outdoors), a rabbit who rules the roost and has the run of the house, and a large acquarium of tropical fish. I enjoy gardening, hiking, bicycling, reading, the beautiful weather we have 9 out of 12 months, photography, ice cream, chocolate, pizza and a lot of other more health foods as well. I am extremely curious about almost anything, as long as it does not involve snakes, spiders or insects.

I am passionate about doing something about climate change before it's too late. I've made my house as green as I can afford right now, but of course there's more that could be done. I have recently gotten very interested in sustainability and last fall I had a very nice vegetable garden (couldn't do one this spring as I had major foot surgery in March .. I am already thinking about the fall). It is really gratifying to eat something that you've grown yourself in the way you want it grown.

My Judaism is an important part of my life, as is my passion for protecting creation. The two are so integrated for me now that they are inseparable.

My parents taught me the importance of strong values and social justice, and I try to infuse these gifts into all that I do
