Connecting People to Weave a Better World

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Steve Habib Rose.  A number of us met this evening and thought that this group would be a fitting tribute. Lets use this group to recognize, honor and appreciate the many gifts and blessings he bestowed on so many of us. Please add yourself and your reflections.

About

Play Polo 4 Peace on Sunday September 21st Official Peac Day World Wide.

The oldest team sport is also today's hippest.
Polo lovers are globally uniting for Peace. Sunday, September 21st is officially Peace Day World Wide. Few know or respect this fact.

Please Play Polo 4 Peace on that fine Sunday. Help this 'new' (2001) date's recognition spread. When September 21st becomes second nature (like Valentine's Date) or May 1st, our children will live the reality, at least a single yearly day, of Peace.

Yes, one day of complete Peace can be vital. It allows for war zone air transportation of food, medicine, the ill and new volunteers instead of casualties. Doctors, in war zones, can immunize local children versus doing routine bloody triage. Money saved, lives saved, energy saved and it rests on us, today.

Recognize this dream's potential and inform your immediate family, friends and community of September 21st by Playing Polo 4 Peace.

Please, share 30 seconds, at the first chukkas bell, in imagining a world with complete Peace. We will celebrate this vision, not with chocolate or flowers, but with a simple white pillowcase, draped like a saddle blanket, across a horse's peaceful back. This is a plea for your, however small or large, participation in spreading Peace Day - September 21st - significance,

The goal = all 80+ polo playing nations involved in 2008, and a yearly growth in numbers and unity from the international polo community. Already, in week one of year one, Argentina, Nigeria, USA, Malaysia, Chile, U.K., Mexico, Ecuador, India, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Texas have at least one (some many) Volunteer Ambassador's Playing Polo 4 Peace.

They will share 30 seconds of inspiration with teammates, club members, fans and opponents by supplying two bells - 30 seconds - and our peace symbolized by a horse wearing a white pillowcase.

Will you be a piece of Peace Day's growth ? Can you volunteer to be your nation's, province's, states, club's, or farm's Ambassador 4 Peace??

by creator Jeremey Gilley

Peace One Day - CNN interviews Jeremy Gilley.

Jeremy Gilley is an actor turned film maker, who in the late 1990's became preoccupied with questions about the fundamental nature of humanity and the issue of peace. He decided to explore these through the medium of film, and specifically, to create a documentary following his campaign to establish a day of ceasefire and non-violence.

In 1999, Jeremy founded Peace One Day, a non-profit organisation, and in 2001 Peace One Day's efforts were rewarded when the United Nations unanimously adopted the first-ever day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September annually - Peace Day.

In 2007 according to the UN, over 100 million people were active on Peace Day, in 192 countries. There were life-saving initiatives in 14 countries, and over 80 activities in Afghanistan alone where 1.4 million children were vaccinated against polio.
