A  campaigner for providing affordable medicine to the less advantaged, my current preoccupation is to support the Poppy for Medicine campaign which will provide developing countries with cheap morphine and diminish the heroin trade that funds the war in Afghanistan. I am also interested in promoting what is going on under the auspices of the Israel Cricket Association to foster the take-up of cricket among Israeli Arabs, as a way of building trust and understanding between the communities. Street20 is a Cricket for Change initiative, the British charity that advocates using the sport as a means of bringing people together. This version of the game uses plastic bats and wickets and a tennis ball wrapped in electrical tape.

Cricket is entirely new to the Israeli Arabs but has been taken up with amazing enthusiasm. The next step should be going into Gaza, then fostering cricketing links between Palestinians and Israelis.
