About
Found myself taking refuge on a small Island in the Pacific North West free of billboards, corporate box stores and stoplights. Participating in a unique social experiment, here with our well defined natural boarders, creating culture, we like to think,oh so different from America. Growing food, celebrating, incorporating ritual and ceremony with these strange Islanders I have become so close to.
I have a strong interest in local food production and the development of a strong local economy based around Island resources. As part of a research team for a documentary film about food security I am fortunately able to dive fully into learning more about agriculture starting right here at home on Orcas Island.
Lately, I have been very interested in Land Trusts and Land Conservation models, Rural Development, Agriculture Policy, Ag-tourism, Local Food Systems, Farm to Cafeteria programs and equipment co-ownership models.
