Network of Abia People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NAPWHAN) or the Network are eager to establish a Network of PLWHA in Abia State, Nigeria irrespective of sector, cadre, discipline, institution, background, cluster and geographical location etc, with the purpose of reducing the burden of the HIV/AIDS epidemic on PLWHA and PABA and for more effective control of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Abia State, Nigeria and beyond by contributing to the efforts of our government to have Nigeria as a country in which people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) enjoy equal rights, opportunities and responsibilities as every other citizen of the country without discrimination against them and really the Network is to work towards the improvement of the quality of people living with HIV/AIDS in Abia State, Nigeria and to encourage them to work together in support groups, local and zonal networks for better coordination and meaningful representation on issues affecting their welfare.

  NAPWHAS collaborates with both local and international development partners and is blessed with abundant human resources. Members of NAPWHA are represented in different AIDS committees at local and international levels.

  NAPWHAS has five prominent persons as members of board trustee, 6 project implementation associates working on part-time basis, and 5 full-time project staff. The president of NAPWHA who is the executive director is also a member of the board of trustee.

VISION:

 Network of People living with HIV/AIDS Abia State Nigeria (NAPWHAS): envisions where the spread of HIV/AIDS is halted and its prevalence reversed; by caring for AIDS orphans & vulnerable children (OVC’s), widows and People living/affected by HIV/AIDS (PLWHA/PABA) through education, counseling, home base care & support group meetings, socialization and advocacy on issues affecting members of the organization.

MISSION:

To stem the tide of HIV/AIDS related stigma and discrimination while preventing further spread of HIV/AIDS by providing care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS, orphan and vulnerable children, with mindset of safeguarding the entire populace.
