About
I've been a WiserEarth member since it first started early in 2007! I was drawn to Paul Hawken's vision of a network of sustainability practitioners, each making a contribution to the global solution in their own unique way!!
Since interning with the Natural Capital Institute to first populate the database and then spread the word about WiserEarth, I've been busy! During the 2007-08 school year, I completed a Master's in Strategic Management towards Sustainability at BTH in Karlskrona, Sweden. Now, I'm starting my own company in Toronto, Canada called Strategic Sustainable Investments. A lifetime student of Economics and Finance, I've seen the power possessed by financial capital to direct the course of development. I'm hoping to redirect the flow of money towards sustainable companies by showcasing the practicality and profitability of sustainability initiatives.

Hi Nash,
Reading your profile introduced me to MSLS. It's good to know that higher studies based on a more radical systemic approach such as this one is going mainstream. Maybe someday I'll have a chance to go there myself. By the way, I like how you wrote your profile. Excellent use of contrast. I'm sure I'll be seeing you more in WiserEarth. Nice to know you. |

Hi Tim -- Glad to see another MSLS '08 person on this site! I, too, am excited about the program and overall experience. My interests lie in the implementation of sustainable practices in everything (of course), but my back ground is in public policy and regional and community development, so I'm choosing to focus my post-school efforts on sustainable public policy and capacity-building. Looking forward to seeing you in August. Be well...

“Economy is the basis of society. When the economy is stable, society develops. The ideal economy combines the spiritual and the material, and the best commodities to trade in are sincerity and love.”
If I were U.S. Secretary of Education I would make 2 years of Akido training to be a requirement for graduation from high school in US. ;-) By the way, do you ever wonder what is an average educational level of US senator?
