About
Laurie spent almost a decade working with and for low-income urban communities in many of New York's most challenged communities. Relocating to California she launched into environmentally sustainable planning, emphasizing environmental justice and providing "green" solutions in urban infrastructure. Currently is working on building the the first "off-grid" environmental education center in San Francisco--the EcoCenter at Herons' Head Park which will feature a stand alone solar array (no grid tie in), and a blackwater treatment system. Laurie has a Masters in Urban Planning degree from Hunter College CUNY, NYC. In her spare time Laurie paints, hikes, and promotes public art.
Laurie is interested in connecting with folks working on solving urban challenges: water, energy, land use, social reform.
