Currently I am a massage therapy student at the Utah College of Massage Therapy. This has been one of my long-term goals for many years now, and since my recent move, the opportunity to get this degree has presented itself. I'm taking the year-long evening classes, and already I am truly amazed at what we, as bodyworkers, can do to help people heal themselves. So much of our work is simply to bring the body back into homeostasis, to make it healthier and able to heal itself of any illness or problem. New research is coming up all the time, and people are beginning to understand the importance of bodywork in our society. Many ancient civilizations knew how vital this work was to a population, and like the wonders of cleanliness and hygiene, our 'modern' society is re-learning these truths.
I love animals, and I currently own about a dozen zebra finches, and my family has a Malamute mix dog, and my younger sister has a leopard gecko. My life is fairly simple: I work, I go to school, and when I have time I love reading, playing video games, writing, and researching bodywork and mythology online. I dabble in aromatherapy and several other alternative medicines and holistic approaches. Homeopathy has done so many wonderful things for me.
I'll add to this when I think of more things to write about myself.
