I believe that everything falls into place in accordance with the laws of nature. Everything is part of the earth's creative process! A poem I wrote about 8 years ago captures the spirit of my understanding of the earth:
The ancient is in motion.
Sand saltate,
Sun sparkle,
Time tumble...
The ancient is in motion.
Maypop is the long forgotten slang term for my favorite flowering plant -- passiflora incarnata, the passionflower. The Cherokee name for this plant is more beautiful -- ocoee (oh-coh-ee).
I am a plant enthusiast... I love the natural building movement (and land use that supports all creatures)... The work of an artisan always makes my eyes sparkle... If I can stand still long enough...I like to think that nature is always telling me something...sharing something with me... I believe that we are all healers and that our words and thoughts can be magical.
Presently, I work with a diverse community of people in affordable housing. I coordinate services for the residents and dabble in various forms of community involvement (arts, ecology, etc). I am immersed in a self-designed learning experience right now focusing on yoga, nutrition, the arts, herbal medicine, and cirlce work... I also perform in an excellent a cappella group called the Loose Interpretations and am experimenting more with classical flute and vocals.
"May all your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view...where something strange and more beautiful and full of wonder than your deepest dreams waits for you." --Edward Abbey
