About

Markus is an independent thinker in the Lab Minicui Sodas www.ms.lt, based in Lithuiania but covering a wide range of subjects such as Global Villages, Sustainable Energy, Social Agriculture and Fighting Peacefully. Recently Markus led a team exploring people's personal discoveries and connections for the My Food Story Project www.myfoodstory.info and his tea stories can be read on the site.

Aside from this he is available for consultancy work and has been involved with Xing www.xing.com where you can see his detailed work bio.

He takes a particular interest in opening up new ideas and connecting people into new thought patterns and ways of being. As a result of his hard Green political view point he is a member of www.couchsurfing.com and www.hospitalithclub.org that allow staying with people around the world to build better relationships and minimize impacts on the natural environment. Such practical sustainability projects are where he feels the biggest difference can be made, but he has also stood for National Parliament in Britain on a Green ticket and been a Parish Councilor in the village of Rippingale where he grew up.

Although he graduated from Manchester Uni with a Biology Geology degree he has focused more on community empowerment and capacity building of organizations, especially youth based ones. Currently he lives in Europe and has a special interest in Arab-European Dialogue as well as supporting projects related to the MDGs. To this end he took part last year in the first Eurizons – Tour for Global Responsibility.

During Eurizons over 50 people hitch hiked through MittleEuropa to the lobby at the European Parliament and the Council of Europe. This event was reported on by the print, radio and television media. Markus was a hitch hiker and a part of the journalistic team. Eurizons is being repeated this year. Though Markus will be running a democracy project in Christiana, Copenhagen and may instead connect with another hitch hiking project which you can read about on the www.hitchwiki.org website he will give some local logistical support to Eurizons 2007.

He is approachable and always willing to learn new ideas and share experiences.
