About
In 1993, after twenty-five years as a community organizer, development consultant, peace and environmental activist, I founded the Center for Media and Democracy to investigate and report on organized PR, deception, spin and propaganda campaigns by businesses and governments.
Since then I have co-authored six books on the subject with my colleague Sheldon Rampton. They include titles such as Toxic Sludge Is Good For You - Lies, Damn Lies and the Public Relations Industry; Trust Us We're Experts - How Industry Manipulates Science and Gambles with Your Future; and, Weapons of Mass Deception - The Uses of Propaganda in Bush's War on Iraq.
Our organization edits and runs www.SourceWatch.org , a powerful wiki-based encyclopedia of the people, organizations and issues shaping the public agenda. We invite your participation as a citizen journalist contributing articles and edits to SourceWatch.
