About
I grew up in San Francisco, CA and graduated with a B.A. in History and Environmental Studies from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY in 2006. Shortly thereafter, I began campus organizing with the PIRGs at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she began to deepen her interest in local, community-based solutions to global issues. I am currently pursuing an M.S. in Environmental Education at Lesley University's Audubon Expedition Institute, and have spent the past year and a half living outdoors and traveling throughout different bioregions of the U.S. in a retrofitted school bus, learning about environmental issues from the communities (human and natural) most affected by them. This spring (2009) I am completing my Professional Practicum with the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE). I was first introduced to BALLE through a visit with Sustainable Connections in Bellingham, WA and I am excited to learn more about the resiliency of living economies while interning with BALLE this Spring.
My passions lie in issues surrounding: consumerism and waste, globalization, environmental ethics, human rights, environmental justice, local economies, civic engagement, youth leadership development, and corporate power/personhood.

As human beings we chase after fleeting pleasures like a child licking honey off a sharp knife or a person carrying a torch against the wind.
With love..
