About

I grew up with a dad who loved nature and hated rules. Thanks to him, I spent the bulk of my youth heading off into the woods, the oceans, the hills - mostly unprepared, unplanned, and unfettered - and discovering the plants and animals that sustain me. That connection to nature lead me to a drive to preserve, restore, and adore this planet and all the things on it.
I have a strong passion for the written word, social activism, and technology as a tool for social and environmental change. I combined two of my great life loves of writing and green technology while working as Managing Editor for EcoGeek.org. I am now dedicated to covering all things techy, gadgety and green for TreeHugger.com.
