Made up of masks and

Candles wax

eyes that

fall like leaves

from weltering trees

at the corners

of mouths

I wonder as I pass

If we know that

Movement is a choice

If we choose

We could have the courage

To be

Still,

In this

I can’t see through this

Screen door

That separates us all,

I find your point of view

Blurry,

Covered in dense smog-like tension

Reflecting mirrors

Show only that which

I can not stand,

No walk in the night air,

No meditation

Will replace what knowledge

Clarity brings,

The intimacy of being human is lost

On me

Make me smoke,

Vapor that molds to the

Receiver

But can never

Be cut

Or torn

Broken or worn

Worn out shoes

Worn out heart

Here the trees are thick and dense

In this section of the heart

The human factory produces

An illusion of importance,

Our cages will protect us

And the steel armor will

Stretch out this existence longer

But some of us

Can not afford this

Exterior

Can not breathe with it on

Still-I find myself trying

On a helmet from time to time

As

My eyes loose their flame and candle

Wax

Melts slowly down my face
