HELP is a Developmental Organization formed by a group of service professionals from different professions committed to protection of women & children from violence, Sexual exploitation, abuse and trafficking.  HELP is an important policy-influencing organization in the State of Andhra Pradesh. It is also one for the first organization in the state to holistically approach the issue of Trafficking in persons and works on a range of activities as a part of its Counter Trafficking Measures – from Campaign, Advocacy and Sensitisation of various stakeholders on the issue of trafficking, to the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Socio-economic Reintegration of trafficked persons.  HELP has been functional as an organization for the past decade and a half (Fourteen years) and has gone through varied transformation process. The major expansion of the organization has occurred in the past 10 years of its existence and can be labeled as its defining period. This has been in terms of volume of work and programme delivery, staff strength, growth and development in terms of issues and project processes, financial transactions and fund availability, etc,.  This issue of human trafficking has assumed disturbing manifestrattions and proportions simultaneously in the past decade and the programmatic/structural growth of the organization has been a response to the desperate need for intervention in the sector.  HELP also works to Prevent Second Generation Prostitution, and to bring gender equity in the community. It dreams of a future, free from social evils like Trafficking and Commercial Sexual exploitation of Women and Children.   Organization background  A team of socially motivated individuals consisting of journalists and social scientists etc., came together and decided to promote and strengthen the anti-arrack movement initiated by women in Nellore district in the year 1992. This team very intensively involved in the above task till the prohibition of arrack had been imposed in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  At the meeting of the above team, which was held at Nellore in ’93, it was unanimously decided that the members should form themselves into an association to attend to the welfare and protection of the Rights of the marginalized and vulnerable women and children in the society. Thus, HELP came into existence in the year 1993.  HELP with other like-minded NGOs in ’94, initiated work on the issues of commercial sex workers’ in the Coastal Andhra Pradesh.   HELP is a development organisation an NGO in Andhra Pradesh, India focusing on Counter Trafficking initiatives for the most vulnerable groups in the society.  Mr.Ramamohan, a Graduate in Arts & Diploma in Journalism.. His 14 years of experience in the field of Journalism has exposed him to the various issues and their intricacies from different angles. This experience comes in handy to deal with any problem. Lobbing and policy analysis is the basic strength of the chief functionary. Mr.Ramamohan has good linkages with various NGOs and NGO Networks like AP Alliance for Child Rights and NATSAP (Network Against Child Trafficking & Sexual Exploitation in Andhra Pradesh). He has played crucial role in the formation of NATSAP and AP Alliance for Child Rights in Andhra Pradesh - a forum of NGOs, Networks, and Activists, promoting the ‘Child Rights and Anti –Trafficking ‘ Campaign in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Mr.Ramamohan is appointed by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh as a Member in State Coordination Committee on “Prostitution, Child Prostitution and Children of Prostitution”. Vision/Goal of the Organization :       The main objective of HELP is to stop child prostitution, trafficking and second-generation prostitution. The goal of HELP is prevention of child trafficking and promotion of child rights, human rights and community empowerment interventions with the involvement of  many of  Civil society organizations,  government, non-government and International agencies. The broad areas of expertise are Advocacy and lobbying on child rights promotion/protection, Education, networking, community empowerment programs, planning and capacity building of the Civil Society Organizations.  Objectives of organization  *      To stop child trafficking, child Prostitution and Second Generation Prostitution and young women.*      To prepare underprivileged children (children of women in prostitution) for entry into the formal system.*      To work towards parental participation in children’s education. *      To provide and optional dignified life to the children of women in prostitution through comprehensive social interventions in their situation. More particularly, to give inputs like education, shelter, health, nutrition, recreation, vocational & skill trainings, personality development, value education, counseling  etc., *      To undertake Capacity building and facilitate to encourage other NGOs to take up red-light areas intervention work. *      To work towards proper social reintegration of the VOCSET and Rescued Girls/women.*      To effect change in the community – a change in the life of poor & vulnerable women, children and other marginalized by effecting people’s action. *      To take up Advocacy work on behalf of the VOCSET wherever required. *      To create a fair, just and gender sensitive society by people’s own initiative *      To train local youth – children to protect exploitation*      To undertake Advocacy and Lobbying for implementation of laws and appropriate changes in the legislation and policy & programmes of prevent trafficking.*      To undertake sensitization and training programmes for GOs,NGOs,INGOs and Police personnel on anti-trafficking and child rights.*      To support and network with other NGOs with similar Vision and Mission. The work of HELP: HELP is based in red-light areas located in Guntur Dist & Prakasam Dist in Andhra Pradesh. HELP works with all individuals/Groups involved in the phenomenon of prostitution, be they are victims or perpetrators of prostitution. HELP sees the group of prostituted women as victims and various agents in the prostitution market such as brothel-keepers, pimps, customers, shopkeepers, etc., as perpetrators. HELP also perceives certain persons as vulnerable to being prostituted or vulnerability to becoming a perpetrator.  HELP works on its principal premise that an impact on trafficking and exploitation with in prostitution will be brought about by its simultaneous social works intervention on all the three groups and at all three levels. HELP activities  > Prevention of Second Generation to be trafficked  To address the issues related to women &children in this areas.
