I am Grifen Hope from New Zealand living in Chile with my wife Javiera and our son.

We are embarking on an ambitious project to make a difference in our world. We live in Ecoescuela El Manzano, a small community in the Biobío region of Chile waking up, rising up, asserting the fundamental human right and responsibility to self-determination. El Manzano is a learning community, self-organising for resilience, practicing sustainable living, educating for sustainability,networking a bioregion, calling to a nation, calling on the collective wisdom of life, of Gaia.

We are part of an international community, a global network making a global difference. We are part of a national team communicating to a network of interested Chileno people. We are part of a bioregional organisation mobilising the process of transition. We are part of a local community organising ourselves for resilience. We are part of a family taking responsibility, a household trying to meet its own needs from as close to home as possible, through economy that regenerates. We are two individuals taking a deep ethical stance together.
