About

Gary Malkin is a multiple Emmy award-winning composer/producer, dedicated to making a difference in the world by creating music that inspires the heart and catalyzes individual and societal healing. A performer, public speaker, and artistic director for conferences nationwide, Malkin is passionate about using the arts, and specifically music – as a strategic intervention for nearly any project - so that it might help people assimilate cognitive information with their hearts and souls, in addition to their minds, offering much greater impact. Through his capacities to elicit the deepest of human emotions with his recordings, performances, presentations, and arts performance production skills, he uses the music and the arts to remind people what matters most, inspiring audiences to connect to greater meaning, in a way that only the arts can induce.

As the composer for numerous award-winning television projects, feature films, documentaries, and national and regional commercials, he has enjoyed a highly successful career for over twenty-five years, having received seven EMMYS, two CLIOS, and six ASCAP awards acknowledging his work in film, television, commercials, and CD production.  He has worked on socially responsible media projects with themes such as tolerance, the environment, children’s welfare, peace, various cancer societies, and altruism.

He conceived and created, with co-author Michael Stillwater, the highly acclaimed book and CD set, Graceful Passages, for which he composed and produced the music. This innovative project has sold nearly 100,000 units worldwide, and is the first in a planned series from his life-enhancing media company, Wisdom of the World, Inc., which is currently in capitol development. Many more of his products, such as Care for the Journey, (created to address stress for the health professional) are available on wisdomoftheworld.com.These groundbreaking audio resources feature his signature style of psycho-acoustically designed content delivery, called Alchemized Wisdom™, which delivers a contemplative learning platform for cultivating emotional and spiritual intelligence. By designing an aesthetic way to experience the spoken messages from the world’s Thought Leaders, hundreds of thousands of people have claimed that they were able to face their life transitions with moremindfulness, presence, and compassion experiencing this work.

Malkin has also been creating and performing at live musical events supporting socially relevant themes, such as the commemorative event which honored the altruism connected with September 11th, created for theWashington National Cathedral in 2002. In 2006, he produced world-class virtuosos in a cross-cultural concert for a Middle East peace, played to a capacity audience at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral. After serving as the Artistic Director for the Quest for Global Healing Conferences, (which featured Archbishop Desmond Tutu, among other Nobel Laureates), he was recently invited to compose a cross-cultural composition for a traditional Chinese orchestra, which was performed at the prestigious Count Down Ceremony at Tiananmen Square in honor of the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympiad. He is currently creating the music for the global broadcast PANGEADAY, hosted by the TED conference curator, Chris Anderson, to be broadcast throughout the world on May 10, 2008. Through his performances, presentations and recordings, he is dedicated to using the power of music as potent tool for bridging differences between cultures - as well as for a healing integration of mind, body, and spirit and heart.
