About
Mission
FACES (Filipino/American Coalition for Environmental Solidarity) envisions an interconnected world where people are healthy and free to realize their potential through cooperation and solidarity. We aspire for communities that are accountable for the safety and well-being of each other and Mother Earth. We hope for a world where people respect the interdependence of species, protect and preserve the resources of the environment, and sustain all living creatures for present and future generations.
About
Launched in 2000, FACES originally formed to seek justice for Philippine communities impacted by the toxic legacy left behind at former US military bases in the Philippines.
Our current campaign, CAREnow! (Chevron Accountability and Respect for the Environment Now) works in partnership with fenceline communities in Pandacan, Metro Manila, and in solidarity with communities in Richmond, CA to pressure Chevron to take corporate responsibility and ensure cleanup and accountability to fenceline communities.
FACE2FACE is FACES 10-day solidarity trip that connects participants to Philippine communities and their struggles for social and environmental justice. Participants learn of the transnational connections between the US and the Philippines, and develop their personal and collective understandings of environmental and social issues.
